Michael Dimitroff
Manager/Software Architect

Summary: I have over ten years of experience designing and implementing complicated
n-tier solutions to intricate business problems and managing teams of software developer
and IT professionals. I have built multiple Client Reporting systems from the ground-up
and have achieved a very thorough understating of the issues surrounding high net worth reporting in a demanding environment. I have also had a great deal of
experience managing people and finite resources in order to accomplish ambitious
goals within tight time periods and demanding business environments. I take pride
in my ability to architect clean extensible solutions and to write tight well documented
code. I am a fast learner who enjoys new challenges and opportunities. I am an effective
communicator (both written and verbal) who is able to convey technical information
to technical and non-technical people.

Work Experience
Team Leader, Vice President
Lehman Brothers (Neuberger Berman) (April 2000 – Present)
Manager of the WMR Client Review team
-
Manage resources and coordinate team efforts to
accomplish project goals.
-
Responsible for a team with more then 10
senior developers as we build an industry leading reporting system for HMWI (High
Net Worth Individual) clients. This system will allow strategy level reporting and
will include alternative investments such as hedge funds, private equity and commodities. The WMR-Client Review system is being built with C#,
ASP.Net, UDB 9.1, RenderX and tools from Assentis. This is a very important project
within Lehman, is subject to a great deal of scrutininy from senior management and
is being managed within a formal SDLC.
-
Designed and implemented highly customizable portfolio
reporting system to handle both ad-hoc and periodic reports for both HNWI clients
and institutional clients. This system included a web based front end which a user
uses to configure and request a report, a web services based back end which fetches
Xml based portfolio data and loads it into a MS SQL Server based database via Xml
bulk load and a report template created with FMC Pages which renders the report
to PDF.
-
Designed and implemented a “Research Note” based
on a MS Word template which fetches data from a MS SQL Server database via
ADO
and VBA and populates the document accordingly.
-
Wrote “data loading/processing production jobs”
involving highly optimized SQL statements, DTS and other legacy technologies. Our
nightly production jobs are considered mission critical and are held to the highest
standards of reliability and performance.
-
Created a series of Excel Templates which use
VBA and
ADO
to fetch portfolio data from a database and real-time securities pricing from Reuters
to offer real-time portfolio valuation information.
Consultant
(1999 – 2000)
-
Developed position, risk analysis and reporting
systems for the Crude Oil and Alumina trading departments. Worked directly with
users and business units to gather requirements, define specifications and implement
comprehensive solutions.
-
Created a crude oil assay analysis system.
-
The oil systems were based entirely in MS Excel
and took advantage of many advanced Excel features and a great deal of VBA code.
-
The Alumina system was initially based entirely
in Excel but as it grew more complicated much of the functionality was moved to
an ActiveX dll written in VB 6.0 and a database that resides on MS SQL Server 2000.
The most recent enhancements have involved moving all of the reporting functionality
to a solution based entirely on C# and Crystal Reports.Net.
-
Created a web site with Asp.Net and MS SQL Server
to track change/enhancement requests and progress.
