This is the very first time I put the boat in the water.
I wanter to create a light but strong framework for the bow deck. In these shots you can see the combination of 3/4 ply and 1/4 ply to create this.
The end result of of this framing worked out great. I can stand on the 1/4 ply of the bow deck without feeling any sag but it's still pretty light.
This shot shows some of the the flotation foam. It was a little chilly when I mixed the two part foam and it didn't expand as much as I'd hoped.
This shot shows how I attached the frames to the rafters above to hold things in place as I tried to remedy a slight twist.
In this shot I'm waiting for the fiberglass splices to dry. I shoud have put the two side panels one on top of the other becuase this would have ensured %100 alignment of the two havles. My two sides ended up out of alighment by about an 1/8 of an inch.
This pic shows the mast step and centerboard. The mast step needs to transfer lots of energy from the mast to the hull as the wind moves the boat thru the water. Therefore the mast step is big enough to spread this force, is embedded in epoxy putty and fiberglassed to the hull.

The plans were not totally clear about how to attach the seat tops to the hull. At the risk of over kill I added these cleats. I put a straight edge across the seat fronts and framing seat supports to figure out where to place the cleats.
